Spring is the season of good weather par excellence, when you start staying outdoors to enjoy your spare time.During spring you begin to fix gardens and terraces, you start eating outside and you begin to organize aperitifs and dinners with friends. And there is no doubt that a garden or a terrace covered with decking are perfect for relaxation and fun, without sacrificing elegance and glamour.
Decking are strips of solid wood, suitable to be installed outdoor . It can be used in many ways: to create walkways, paving gazebos, pool edges, terraces, balconies, patios, outdoor areas in public places, landings or steps for gardens or even to cover whole facades.
It’s available in two versions:
• Traditional batten for installation on joists of the same wood species, strip-pattern flooring, herringbone or as it is preferred (with clips or with screws)
• Pre-composed squares with the upper part in solid wood and the lower part with a resin support, for a strip-pattern flooring or basket pattern.
The wood species best suited to be placed outside, such as Teak, Ipè Lapacho and Massaranduba, are characterized by high durability, ie the ability of wood to resist degradation caused by environmental stresses of physical-chemical nature or biological (bacteria, fungi, insects or other organisms).
This feature, however, is closely related to the processing of oiling, which serves to nourish, protect and waterproof these boards. The oil treatment must be carried out before installation on all sides of the boards and must thereafter be carried out once a year on the surface of the wood, usually after the winter season, in order to maintain over time the quality and beauty of the wood.
