One of the most eclectic, complex figures of modern architecture passed away on the night of Friday, the 4th July 2014 in Milan. Garbelotto and Master Floor had the honour of working with him on important occasions.
Luca Scacchetti was a reference point for designers. He was born in 1952 and, after graduating in Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano, started teaching in this university. He had a very respectable professional activity at the same time, working with brands like Poltrona Frau and Tecno in the creation of pieces of furniture and home decorations.
His main activity, however, was architecture. He designed private houses, public buildings, and architectural complexes of great value.
Garbelotto and Master Floor had the pleasure of working with this eclectic artistic personality for the Home&Spa Design, which took place inside SuperStudio 13 during the Fuorisalone 2011.
15 design companies could see their products displayed inside completely furnished spaces together with design objects. This project was based on an interdisciplinary approach and a search for a formal, spatial relationship with the place where people live.
Garbelotto and Master Floor worked with architect Scacchetti and created an elegant and natural environment, with a floor, walls, and a ceiling covered with blocks of saw-cut ochre oak wood. This project makes current design trends clear: colours and natural materials, the rediscovery of earth tones and eco-friendly finishes.
With his passing away, the world of architecture and design certainly loses a high-level reference point with an incomparable artistic instinct.
We are proud of the work we carried out with him.
