The choice of finishing is very subjective, depending on the aesthetic result and the feelings you want to get from your own parquet. The oil finish gives a great natural effect to the wooden floor, while the paint finish enhances the shades and chromatics of woody textures. The finish must also guarantee the functional parquet performance. Parquet with paint finish is simply cleaned, no shoe prints are visible, drops of water, grapefruits or the like do not have stains or halos. The oil-finished parquet leaves the surface of natural wood (open pore) making the appearance of the parquet “warm” and “alive”. If the parquet is scratched you can always proceed locally to the restoration by re-applying the oil thus making the scratch almost disappear. It is advisable to apply the oil at least once within a year and a half so as to obtain the effect of a floor always alive and beautiful.
